THERMAL RUNAWAY is a single player arcade game with optional online leaderboards. There are no accounts, no logins, and no ads. This page says exactly what leaves your machine and why.
Like almost any web service, the leaderboard server sees the IP address of incoming requests. We store it with submissions for abuse prevention and rate limiting only. A coarse country code is derived from it (using a local IP to country dataset; your IP is never sent to a third party for lookup) and shown as a small flag code next to worldwide scores. IP addresses are never displayed publicly and are never shared.
If you play through Steam, scores are also posted to a Steam leaderboard, and the in game Steam table shows the public persona names of the players on it. That data lives with Valve and is covered by the Steam privacy policy. We receive nothing from Steam beyond what the leaderboard itself shows.
Want a score of yours taken off the worldwide table? Email us the initials and rough score and we will remove it. No questions.
If what we collect ever changes, this page changes with it, with a new date at the top.
